Pet First Aid   10 hour course                          

This 10 hour certificate course offers comprehensive pet safety and first aid information and applies to dogs and cats. In this exciting course participants practice life saving skills on mannequins and as well on live animals.

 

It covers everything from prevention to treatment of illness and injury as well as information on how to keep your pet in optimal health. 

All students are supplied with an extensive 72 page manual as well as a pocket pet first aid guide and upon successful completion will receive a certificate valid for 3 years.

Course Topics Include

For in persons courses participants may bring their own dog to class to practice bandaging techniques. 

 

Artificial respiration and CPR Skills are practised with CasPeR, the CPR dog. These life-like industry standard mechanical CPR mannequins ensure that participants learn exactly the right technique and life saving skills. 

 

Upon successful completion those in the Pet Industry may utilize the Walks 'N' Wags logo on their website to verify completion of the program. Additionally, you'll be added to the Walks 'N' Wags professional page.

West Kelowna: November 2, 2024 @ Canine Campus Daycare (new location)  9am-7pm

(5 spots left) / must be able to climb larger set of stair to access teaching venue

Virtual Courses, $185 + GST

(includes shipment of extensive 72 page manual, pocket guide and basic bandaging supplies prior to class. Students must provide their own stuffed animal to practice bandaging skills (no practice on live animals) : 

2 day course: December 7 & 8, 2024 , 10am-3pm PST each day on zoom

Registration Deadline: November 24, 2024

Off The Grid   3 hour course                          $59.00 + GST

In this 3 hour certificate course we extend on the skills already learned in the first aid course to apply to "Off The Grid" emergencies.

 

This course is suitable for outdoor enthusiasts, backpackers, farmers, hunters, campers, people living in remote communities, dog walkers, hikers, cabin owners, people wanting additional training, people living in areas without easily accessible Veterinary care.

The skills can also be applied in urban areas in times of disaster when Veterinary care i snot easily accessible.

 

To attend OFF THE GRID, participants must have completed our initial Pet First Aid program within the past 3 years.
